The continued strategic and thematic work in the still young collaborative network intensified last year through eight organized workshops. This work was greatly aided by the cooperation of domestic and international guests. The documentation of these workshops is done via a working papers series entitled “Welfare Societies”. We would like to continue to work with comparable intensity this year while further developing our research project contributions and simultaneously sharpening their respective designs. Researchers from Bremen and Oldenburg, have successfully begun their work. A lot has happened since its conception. Workshops and lectures have been organized, the working paper series “Welfare Societies” has been initiated and its respective public relations activity has been conceptualized.
